The Idea:
I met Kerry at a workshop earlier in the year (2025), and she approached me, saying that she had been recommended a site builder as a way to get a website live quickly. This was not the case; she wasted invested money in what she thought was right. After some discussion, I offered to help. I looked at what she had done so far and said I could get her up and running quickly.
Development:
I advised Kerry that I would move the domain she bought to my host, where I could manage her website better. For some reason, the site builder did not allow Kerry to link her website to her bought domain because it was locked behind a paywall. I chose a suitable theme and copied the content that Kerry had already implemented; however, it wasn’t sufficient for the new website’s needs. She gave me reviews and testimonials, more content explaining on what she did and some basic FAQ’s.
I now maintain and manage her website, and in due course will convert her emails to a more cost-efficient method.

Handover:
When the Site Builder propagated the website, it took 12 hours, during which Kerry thought something was wrong. Their infrastructure is aged, as it should have gone live in minutes when I launched it. I could see the live website when I connected via a VPN elsewhere, and a few others could see it, but that didn’t allow Kerry to shout from the rooftops till her site was finally live!
I will get her away from the site builder in due course as it will create some downtime which isn’t ideal.
Kerry is also able to send me changes and add blog posts to her website as and when required whilst I keep on maintaining her website and ensuring it is secure!
